Expectations

I am extremely excited for this study abroad program, however I feel even more nervous about it.  I have images of what I think Spain would be like. I imagine them living their lives to the fullest, and by this I do not mean being a dare devil, but by taking in every little bit of life’s pleasures.

My number one goal from this is to be fluent or nearly fluent in Spanish by the time I leave. I get excited about the thought of being able to speak Spanish to many of my friends. In addition to that, I think I will have the most difficulty finding the courage to allow myself to try to speak Spanish freely. Without feeling embarrassed if I totally messed up the sentence.

My host family consists of a single women, which does not surprise me because I did specify ask for a host family without small children and animals. Hopefully she will be able to show me around.
